The Artist
Giorgio Tardonato was born in Erba (Co), Italy, in 1951.
After obtaining a degree in modern literature, he worked as a teacher, photographer, artist, and astronomy communicator. He lives and works in Eupilio (Co), Italy.
Giorgio Tardonato has an impressionist-inspired background. His painting genre is "astronomical": his works feature stars, galaxies, comets, cosmic clouds, but also fantastic galaxies of antimatter, negative skies, cosmic crystals. The necessary techniques are continuously evolving: canvases painted with oil or acrylic colors; brushes, spatulas, airbrush, flow, inclusions; he also uses self-built canvases with cuts filled with transparent resins and inclusions in gold leaf and powder; forms, sculpted or engraved, opaque and transparent.
